Ten women from Torpa Badayi toli completed pickle and papad-making training at Yuva Compass Centre Torpa in 2021. United by their shared neighborhood and entrepreneurial spirit, they formed Grahini Utpad Samiti to transform their skills into a sustainable business.
From Home to Market: Starting with just INR 6,000, the group produced mahua pickles that quickly gained local market acceptance. Today, they offer diverse products including adrak, lehsun, mirch, and various papad varieties.
Growth & Expansion: With strong market demand and samples approved by NABARD and Udyam Utthan Samiti, the group invested in a packaging machine (₹1,08,000), funded through a bank loan (₹50,000 at 5% interest) and member contributions (₹58,000).
Key Impact: Women balance household responsibilities with profitable entrepreneurship, proving that collective action and Udyogini's support create sustainable livelihoods in rural communities.
