Where social and mobility constraints on women would limit their capacity to reach their full potential as entrepreneurs, a key innovation of Udyogini is to train local women as entrepreneurs to serve women producers. The Intel-Udyogini School of Entrepreneurship (I-USE) began operations in 2010 in Niwas cluster of villages in Mandla district in MP and in Ranchi district of Jharkhand. Key features of the three month long courses are: curriculum comprising business skills, life skills, mathematics and language; successful small entrepreneurs involved as resource persons; internships in the Udyogini-developed value chain enterprises; and selection of entrepreneurs for incubation based on assessments on key parameters.
