Women's Livelihoods : from Product to Market Pattals (Leaf Pattals) of Santhal Parganas, Jharkhand State

The objective of the study was to track the movement of the product from the producer to the market, understand the process, the costs, the people involved and make recommendations for action.

Value chain of embroidery in Rajasthan 

A value chain study subsector analysis of embroidery of the high-volume middle market in W. Rajasthan was completed. It traced the nature of the transactions and volumes involving the manufactures and traders in Barmer district (the bulk of the Rs. 150 crore annual business is concentrated here), the women producers in Barmer as well as the women producers in Bikaner who supply the manufacturers in Barmer (through middlemen). It identified the needs of the traders and the requirements of the suppliers in order to attract more business from the traders and get more income.

From Grassroots Management Training to Grassroots Enterprise Management Services : An Approach to Empowering Women through Enterprise

This paper analyses Grassroots Management Training or GMT in the context of the significant role micro credit and micro-enterprise initiatives play in poverty reduction for women in the informal sector. It presents the outcome and learning from a purely management training intervention and analyses the move towards a range of business development services in the operations of Udyogini that it calls Grassroots Enterprise Management Services (GEMS).

The Scope for NTFP Enterprises in Sagar and Indore , MP

The study was aimed to suggest alternative livelihood for the women engaged in NTFP collection from the forest areas. The major NTFPs selected for this study are chironjee, aonla, bamboo, tendu leaves and palash leaves.The study suggests measures to reduce the number of intermediaries in the product to market chain and to value add the products.
